ECNL RL Game Day Procedures
FCL’s goal is to be Florida’s premier youth soccer league where all teams can play and develop regardless of race, creed, sex, ability or economic status. We strive to develop and prepare our clubs for the future. We pledge to give back to our members in the form of player development, business development, coach and referee education, and provide financial aid platforms for the membership community.
Trapped Players
While there is an option to select “Trapped Players” within the athlete one check-in process, this particular feature is not yet functional. As a result, any and all Trapped Players should be added to the roster by way of the “Exception Players” option.
- HOW TO: Tap “Exception Players” and enter the information for a Trapped Player. Type in the player’s athlete one player registration ID number or search for the player using their full name and date of birth.
- ELIGIBILITY: For any questions regarding eligibility of Trapped Players, please review the ECNL Competition Rules (2.9).
Discovery Players
The registration of Discovery Players will, generally, take place in two ways:
- For players playing for clubs/teams outside of the ECNL and ECNL RL, the same procedures are in place as in prior years:
- Email all information on the player to the ECNL, including written/email confirmation from the player’s other club, approving the registration of the player as a Discovery Player with your club.
- Select “Discovery Player” when registering the player within athlete one.
- At game day check-in, the player would be available to add in your Team Player Pool.
- For ECNL Regional League players who are registered to an ECNL RL club that is NOT represented at the ECNL level (ie. an ECNL RL only club), the player may only join another ECNL team as a Discovery Player, per the Competition Rules (2.12); These players are added as follows:
- Email all information on the player to the ECNL, including written/email confirmation from the player’s other club, approving the registration of the player as a Discovery Player.
- Since the player is already registered within athlete one to another ECNL RL club, you will not register this player in athlete one. The ECNL will track this player as one of your Discovery Players.
- At game day check-in, the player would be added by way of the Exception Player option, in the same way as noted above (see Trapped Players).
- ELIGIBILITY: For any questions regarding eligibility of Discovery Players, please review the ECNL Competition Rules (2.12).
Staff Check-In
Currently, only one head coach can be checked in via the app. All coaches in the technical area this weekend must have valid 2024-25 ECNL passcards. If an additional layer of confirmation is needed, use the app’s “change coach” feature, which will display a full list of approved coaches for you to confirm that the coaches onsite are approved to be in the technical area.
